What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacist - Full-time Temporary (3 months) position at BALTIMORE MEDICAL SYSTEM, INC?
The Pharmacist receives supervision and direction from the VP of Pharmacy Services. The Pharmacist provides clinical services, acts as a resource to physicians and nurses, and serves as a resource for clinical practice issues. The pharmacist produces clinical recommendations and programs for the pharmacy and assists in the implementation of therapeutic initiatives. The employee acts as a liaison between Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medical staff. The employee will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the patients served. Also responsible for aiding and assisting with patient care decisions and therapies, reviewing current clinical programs, staff and patient education, patient safety programs, pharmacoeconomic programs, and overall process improvement. The employee will be able to access patient-specific information and interpret this information to make clinical judgments. The employee will coordinate all clinical pharmacy functions of the department and will promote the role of staff pharmacists in drug quality surveillance programs and disseminating safety, labeling, and quality information on marketed drug products. The employee will also perform all other duties as assigned. Frequent communication outside of the work group is required to resolve disagreements, reach agreements, and clarify issues/processes. Responsibility exists to ensure that internal customers are satisfied with service. Communicates with external contacts frequently and is responsible for ensuring ongoing service.
Schedule/Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Essential functions:
- Demonstrates working knowledge of 340B
- Consistently completes audits
- Works with the billing coordinator to resubmit corrected pharmacy claims through electronic and paper processes.
- Compiles and prints reports as needed for audits
- Maintains organized files
- Trains new staff on the store-level pharmacy inventory management
- Working knowledge of pharmacy systems.
- Responds to pharmacy inventory questions in a timely and courteous manner.
- Completes online training for pharmacy compliance
- Maintains accurate documentation of all actions taken on inventory changes and audits
- Attends center staff meetings
