Pay Schedule I, Grade 25, Regular Schedule: 40 hours per week

Plans, controls, and supervises the operations of storeroom facilities. Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of automotive parts managers, storekeepers, and others. Monitors and controls stock levels through the use of an automated inventory system. Contacts vendors to research the availability of items. Locates suppliers and sets up accounts.
Maintains automated fleet maintenance, inventory control, and work order tracking systems. Keeps records of expenditures on vehicles and uses automated systems to determine maintenance costs. Supervises the issuing, testing, and repair of fire hydrant meters and backflow preventers. Supervises equipment repair facilitates and mechanics.
Works with buyers to develop purchasing contracts. Writes specifications for new inventoried items. Reviews items for inclusion in the commodity base.
Prepares and supervises the preparation and processing of various forms such as purchase requisitions, direct payment forms, goods received memos, and purchase order listings. Maintains a purchase order log. Maintains records, files, and accounts. Prepares various reports regarding storeroom operations.

Training and Experience:
Six years' storekeeping or warehousing experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Entry Level):
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of receiving, storing, and issuing supplies, parts, materials, tools, and equipment. Thorough knowledge of inventory maintenance and control. Knowledge of the principles and practices of procurement.
Skill in the receipt, storage, and issuing of supplies, parts, materials, tools, and equipment. Skill in the maintenance of inventory. Skill in the preparation of forms and the maintenance of records relating to storeroom operations.
Ability to supervise and coordinate the operations of several storage facilities. Ability to supervise storekeepers and others. Ability to communicate effectively.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Full Performance):
Knowledge of County and departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Skill in the supervision and coordination of several storage facilities. Skill in the supervision of storekeepers and others.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE
Applicants will be qualified based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as stated on their application. Applicants must state the dates and duties of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes.Employees in this classification are designated as Emergency/Essential and may be required to work overtime with little or no advanced notice.
Physical and Environmental Conditions:
The work of this classification entails walking, lifting, carrying, and other physical activities. Duties may require travel between work sites.
Medical Examination and Employment Background Investigation
Applicants selected for an appointment to a position in Baltimore County must successfully complete a physical examination and drug screen and an employment background investigation, including, but not limited to a criminal background, education, and fingerprint check.
