A Non-Merit vacancy exists in the Office of Inspector General.
Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) conducts investigations involving allegations of fraud, waste, misconduct, and other improprieties concerning the County’s employees, contractors, and resources. The OIG also makes recommendations to promote efficiency, accountability, and integrity in County Government.
Under general supervision, performs advanced analytical duties in support of the office. Collects and analyzes data and evidence. Creates reports, dashboards, maps, and other visualizations, summarizing large amounts of information.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assists in the preparation and analysis of OIG cases.
- Leads, coordinates, and conducts analytical studies.
- Researches, analyzes, and reports on a variety of materials.
- Performs statistical analysis of data.
- Researches, writes, and presents comprehensive reports and memorandums.
- Leads, coordinates, and conducts special programs and projects in support of OIG cases and investigations.
- Develops and maintains databases and logs.
- Accesses database to retrieve, review, update, track, and revise a variety of investigative records.
- Performs queries and develops routine reports from various data sources.
- Assembles data for inclusion in narrative and statistical reports.
- Creates and updates spreadsheets.
- Performs geo-spatial analysis on datasets.
- Utilizes Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other analytical software to analyze and summarize large data sets.
- Creates visualizations summarizing information for internal and external customers.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Two to four years of experience performing professional, analytical, or budgetary support for an administrative, technical, or operational function.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
(Additional experience involving the analysis and evaluation of budgets, systems, policies, procedures, organizations, and programs may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years for the required education.
Education in business administration, public administration, or a related field beyond a bachelor’s degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.)

EXAMINATION PROCEDURE
