- The Human Services Program Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and directing human service programs of varying complexities. This involves coordinating and administering these programs, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. A key aspect of the role includes planning, organizing, and supervising the work of subordinate personnel and service providers. The Program Manager is responsible for developing, reviewing, and assisting in the creation of departmental policies and programs. They also make recommendations regarding new or revised legislation that could impact the department or its programs.
- The Human Service Program Manager promotes the work of the department and its programs by engaging with interested groups and individuals and represents the department in a liaison capacity with officials from other agencies. They implement rules, regulations, standards, and controls to govern program operations and supervise the preparation and monitoring of program budgets. This role also involves assigning cases, scheduling staff, and holding conferences to review cases and address any problems. The Program Manager develops written guidelines and procedures for service delivery, assists with personnel interviews and selection, and evaluates employee performance and program functions.
