The Secondary Computer Science Teacher plans and implements an instructional program in Computer science and provides related educational services for students in grades 8 through 12 depending on the program.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as teacher of record for the classroom.
  • Incorporates small-group and individual instruction to personalize and tailor instruction to individual student needs.
  • Plans, prepares, and delivers instruction using digital or face-to-face learning depending on the program.
  • Monitors and analyzes student assessment data to determine instructional needs and interventions.
  • Provides reasonable accommodations for students with IEP and/or 504 plans.
  • Incorporates reasonable strategies for emerging multilingual students.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains confidential and sensitive information.
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies, administrative regulations, and professional standards.


Desired Qualifications

  • Holds unexpired MSDE educator licensure or certification in the area of Secondary Computer Science.
  • Employee of Baltimore City Public Schools for the 2025-2026 school year, with the intention to remain an employee for the 2026-2027 school year.
  • Possession of all appropriate licenses, certificates, and contracts for the 2026-2027 school year (non-renewals, expiring certifications, separations including retirees will not be considered for summer school employment).
  • Acceptable annual rating by school principal/administrator
  • Unless expressly stated otherwise with respect to the qualifications indicated in the position description, City Schools reserves the right to consider other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position.
