Description/Job Summary
This position works under the guidance of and assist the Workforce Development Program Director with clinical laboratory courses and requirements for certification and licensing. The Clinical Coordinator assist in scheduling, registrations, and expansion of clinical placements for all continuing education healthcare training programs.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Engages in activities which enhance the program by developing and maintaining partnerships with clinical sites.
- Ensures program and student compliance with clinical affiliation agreements.
- Coordinates clinical schedules for students with clinical sites.
- Performs clinical site visits while students are at site to monitor compliance and adherence to professionalism and code of conduct.
- Develops schedule, track and trend students prior to, during, and after their clinical assignments for compliance with healthcare program requirements.
- Demonstrates professionalism and effectively communicates when interacting with students, staff, and clinical site personnel.
- Assists with data collection and analysis with regard to program assessment and effectiveness, and retention.
- Contributes to the development of policy and procedures related to the clinical training phases of healthcare programs.
- Develops and delivers information sessions to prospective students and community partners.
- Participates in college and departmental meetings, advisory committee meetings, and others as appropriate.
- Understands and uses current technology as it applies to program management, classroom instruction, and healthcare programs
- Answers phone, emails and other communication forms and responds to inquiries about Health Care course requirements on the telephone, computer, and in-person
- Works cooperatively with other members in the Division on projects and initiatives, and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must have demonstrated experience in building clinical partnerships.
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment
- Clinical experience and related certification (such as Phlebotomy)Associate's Degree in a healthcare related field and documented proof of current certification in a healthcare field
- Two (2) or more years’ experience in a healthcare setting within the last 5 years
- Working knowledge of computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and Internet search engines
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience in education (community college level preferred)
