What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Build and Commissioning Technician position at Baltimore Aircoil Company - USA?
Build, verify, and elevate performance
What if your craftsmanship directly improved the reliability of critical cooling solutions? As an Electrical Build and Commissioning Technician on the BAC Dayton Operations Team, you’ll assemble, wire, and functionally test equipment — including occasional Trillium models — so our customers receive products that perform beyond expectations. You’ll be part of a values-driven culture grounded in Earning Trust, Embracing Responsibility, Showing Courage, and Driving Innovation.
How you’ll contribute
From blueprint to sign-off, you’ll own key moments: deciphering complex schematics, installing 3-phase power and motor controls, integrating transformers and PLC-connected devices, and completing 120 Vac/24 Vdc control circuits. You’ll verify performance through end-of-line testing, diagnose issues in logic controls and evaporative cooling tower components, and document results with precision. Expect to rotate across lines, support multiple workstations, and work safely at heights using approved fall protection.
Your toolkit
- Proficiency with electrical diagrams, electronic circuit schematics, and machine/mechanical prints.
- Experience with motors, motor controls, transformers, PLCs, and control circuits (120 Vac and 24 Vdc), plus switches, sensors, and transmitters.
- 2 years in motors/controls maintenance and troubleshooting, and 2 years of wiring experience.
- Comfort with electronic test equipment (multimeter); Hi-Pot (dielectric) testing experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code; proven commitment to quality and safety.
- Intermediate computer skills with the ability to complete department paperwork and reports.
