Position Overview: The Shipping Office Assistant will report directly to the Warehouse Supervisor. This person will assist the Shipping Clerk with the overall shipping office administrative activities. People in this role should have a commitment to getting tasks completed and a hands-on approach to work. At times, the Shipping Office Assistant may be called upon to assist with warehouse floor duties, such as, but not limited to, printing pallet tags, applying labels, forklift activity, etc.

Essential Job Functions by priority:
1. Answering phone calls transferred to the Shipping department.
a. Assisting customers, drivers, and vendors with their specified needs.
2. Verifying product shipments when loaders complete their orders.
3. Assist with checking drivers in/out and updating order information.
4. Assist with loading door assignments and dock flow coordination.
5. Assist with warehouse, shipment and/or product inquiries.
6. Assist with shipping and handling import and export documentation.
7. Assist with preparing paperwork for inbound and outbound loads.
8. Assist with appointment confirmation and manifest updates via email.
9. Data entry.
Additional Requirements and Responsibilities:
1. Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
2. Data entry
3. Famous Software experience preferred
4. Bilingual is a plus
5. Warehouse and dispatch experience preferred
6. Able to compile reports and tables
7. Capable of maintaining high level of concentration in a fast-paced work environment
8. Flexible work schedule. Midday start shift.
9. Ability to work extended hours and Saturdays
Job Type: Seasonal
Pay: $16.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
