Join Ballyhoo Hospitality’s growing corporate team as a Staff Accountant! Reporting to the Controller and based in our Chicago corporate office, this role will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain general ledger integrity, support month-end close, and assist with operational accounting across multiple restaurant locations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment and has strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Reconcile daily sales reports and POS systems across multiple restaurant locations
- Review and analyze location-level P&Ls for accuracy and variances
- Assist operations managers with financial reporting questions
- Review/code invoices and ensure proper expense allocation
- Prepare and file city/state monthly sales tax returns
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation
- Ensure deadlines are met for timely financial reporting
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2-5 years of accounting experience (restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit retail strongly preferred)
- Experience with Restaurant 365 or similar accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple locations and deadlines simultaneously
