Job Description
Bakers at Balloon Roof are responsible for mixing, shaping, baking, and finishing of bread, bagels, focaccia, ready to eat items and prep - ensuring the timely production of all items sold. As part of a small, collaborative team, there is shared responsibility to clean, wash dishes, and help each other in the completion of bakery tasks.
Pastry Cooks are responsible for mixing, shaping, baking and finishing of laminated pastry, cookies, quick breads, fillings and prep- ensuring the timely production of all items sold. As part of a small, collaborative team, there is shared responsibility to clean, wash dishes, and help each other in the completion of bakery tasks.
All team members utilize fundamental kitchen skills e.g. basic knife work, food preparation techniques, task management and station organization.
These positions require maintaining Balloon Roof's product quality standards within a fast paced environment, working as a member of a team in line with Balloon Roof's values, and also supporting front of house/serving customers as needed. Those who are dynamic, flexible and motivated will thrive. Openness to constructive criticism and a willingness to always improve is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work as a member of a team to ensure the completion of daily work and bakery cleanliness.
Ensure that bakery items are baked, handled and stored in a manner consistent with Balloon Roof s standards.
Maintain an organized, respectful, efficient and clean environment.
Maintain safe kitchen practices with professional equipment
Job Requirements
Must have a current Washington State Food Workers Card.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Requires at least one weekend day availability, starting time as early as 4am
Flexibility to work between Tacoma and Fife location
Starting hourly wage is $25/hr with review upon 90 day review
