What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Ballast Security?
We are seeking a part-time or full-time dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to building a positive employee experience. In this role, you will support a range of HR functions, ensuring smooth operations and promoting a culture of collaboration, professionalism and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day HR operations, including the onboarding and offboarding process
- Support the full recruitment cycle: posting positions, screening candidates, coordinating and conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires
- Maintain employee records and data within our systems with accuracy and confidentiality
- Assist with drafting and updating job descriptions, HR policies and employee communications
- Help coordinate performance management activities, monitor and analyze employee satisfaction and recommend improvements
- Ensure HR processes comply with applicable employment laws and company policies
- Assist the Office Manager with payroll processing, timesheet auditing, and projects related to HR operations (experience with Paycor is a plus)
- Provide administrative support and continuously look for ways to streamline HR processes
What We’re Looking For:
- 1-3 years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist or related role
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law and compliance requirements
- Proficiency with Paycor and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive matters
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred; HR certification is a plus
