What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prom Sponsor position at Ballard CSD?
Basic Function: The Prom Sponsor coordinates all logistics for the annual prom, mentors student committee members, and collaborates across the school community while maintaining professional standards and discretion.
Essential Functions:
- Provide supervision at all meetings and events.
- Ability to maintain safe conditions and/or react responsibly to accidents.
- Ability to effectively manage paperwork and organization.
- Ability to communicate with others including students, staff, parents, volunteers and media.
- Maintain high integrity and confidentiality in the school operation.
- Be knowledgeable of and abide by all school board policies, procedures, and other applicable laws.
- Cooperate with and work in a courteous manner with co-workers and other personnel.
- Dress appropriately for the position and work required.

- Schedule and plan meetings and events.
- Participate in meetings, in-service training, and workshops for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions.
- Maintain security by following established internal control procedures.
- Complete transportation requests as needed.
- Understand, support, and explain rules as set forth by the Department of Education.
- Responsible for conduct and discipline during events.
- Maintain appropriate professional conduct towards the community.
- Motivate students to improve and work to increase morale; promote participation.
- Use proper procedures when ordering equipment and supplies
- Maintain appropriate public relations with media, support groups, parents, and volunteers.
- Promote the activity, event, or group within the school and community.
- Promote school and community spirit.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
