Job Description:
Ballard Care Center is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our amazing team! The primary purpose of the position is to provide specialized respiratory care to residents in a skilled nursing facility. The RT ensures the safe and effective delivery of respiratory treatments, monitors patient responses, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize respiratory health and overall well-being. Compensation based on experience!
Some Duties Include:
- Deliver direct respiratory care and treatment to residents with physician orders and established protocols.
- Perform regular assessments of residents' respiratory status, including auscultation, oxygen saturation, ventilator settings, and airway patency.
- Manage and maintain ventilator and tracheostomy equipment, including setup, calibration, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
- Suction and maintain airways, including trach tube care and replacement when indicated.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, CPT (chest physiotherapy), and other respiratory modalities.

Skills, Education and Experience
- Minimum one (1) year experience working with adults in a long term care setting
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current and active state Respiratory Therapist license.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, equipment, and infection control practices.
- Ability to perform detailed assessments and respond appropriately in urgent situations.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and adaptable to the skilled nursing environment.
