Job Overview
The After-Hours On-Call Maintenance Technician is one of two team members responsible for responding to after-hours maintenance and warranty calls. This position works under the direction of the Lead After-Hours On-Call Maintenance Technician to ensure timely, professional service to residents and homeowners. The technician participates in a rotating schedule to ensure that one team member is always available for after-hours support.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to after-hours maintenance and warranty calls as scheduled.
- Troubleshoot repair issues with residents and homeowners; determine whether issues can be resolved remotely or require in-person service.
- Perform maintenance and warranty repairs as needed.
- Coordinate with subcontractors when specialized services are required.
- Communicate with the Lead Technician regarding service calls, scheduling, and follow-up needs.
- Maintain records of service calls, schedules, and subcontractor activity, and share all records with the Customer Relations Manager, the Regional Property Manager, and the Lead After-Hours On-Call Maintenance Technician.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Skills Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in construction, remodeling, or property maintenance preferred.
- Strong maintenance knowledge and hands-on repair skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow direction and work independently during assigned shifts.
Essential Functions of this Position
- Lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects such as hot water heaters.
- Bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
Proper Attire
Uniform shirts and ID badge provided. Must use appropriate safety equipment as required for job site safety.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week
