Tax Intern Summer 2026

General Overview

Balfour Beatty located in Dallas, Texas is seeking a Tax Intern to support management in our corporate headquarters. This position requires the ability to work as part of a team as well as deliver results. Candidate must proactively take ownership of projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of income, partnership and franchise tax returns and supporting workpapers, as well as amended returns of minor complexity.
• Help analyze and reconcile OneSource cash tax reports to operating company’s G/L.
• Assist in the preparation and review of depreciation expense schedules.
• Maintain tax calendar and fixed asset system.
• Investigate and resolve state tax notices.
• Collect data to assist management and operating company personnel with tax audits.
• Help research state and local tax rules for project bid requests.

Analysis/Decision Making

• Strong analytical skills are required along with the ability to work both independently and in a group environment.

Education, Certifications, Specialized Training Requirements:

• Pursuing BS in accounting/finance – currently in their sophomore or junior year.
• Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills are necessary.
• PC skills utilizing Excel, Word, Power Point, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook.
