Balfour Beatty is hiring for a Laborer- Unskilled to join our team in Fort Meade, MD for a state-of-the art operations facility. This project is design-build.

The Laborer’s activities are coordinated with the Carpenter Foreman, Project Manager and/or the Superintendent to maintain productivity of the jobsite.

Essential Functions

• Performs a variety of tasks to maintain the productivity of the job site. Tasks can include:
  • Manual labor including but not limited to job site cleaning and maintenance
  • Stocking and moving of job site material
  • works daily with brooms, wheelbarrows and small hand tools

Working Conditions

• The majority of work is completed on job sites in an office trailer or in an existing structure. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for weather conditions.
• The project team and/or team member may need to move to other projected work geographic locations, if necessary.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

• High school diploma preferred and on-the-job training
• 10-hour OSHA trained
• CPR/First Aid Training
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule
• Ability to clearly speak and understand the English
• Must be able to write with proper format, punctuation, spelling and
• Must be able to read safety rules, instructions in the use and maintenance of truck, tools and equipment, and methods and
• Understands safety rules and tool / equipment
• US Citizen Required

The compensation for the Laborer is $18.00-$24.00/hr.
