POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Healthcare Occupations Long-Term Substitute Instructor performs under general supervision to provide classroom instruction that introduces students to the healthcare field and prepares them for further training within healthcare pathways. The instructor delivers instruction aligned with the Healthcare Occupations 1 and 2 course outlines, maintains a structured and safe classroom environment, and supports students in developing foundational knowledge, professional behaviors, and employability skills relevant to healthcare settings. The Instructor monitors student progress, verifies competency attainment, and collaborates with staff and industry partners to support a high-quality instructional program.

EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years of work experience in the technical skills, trade, or vocations to be taught are required. One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree highly desirable.
CREDENTIALS/CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:
Possession of a valid CA CTE 30-day substitute teaching permit or valid CA Designated Subjects or CTE credential. (See link on right for further credential information.)
*Ability to obtain substitute teaching permit may be considered.*
CTE/ROP Substitute Teachers are needed for the following areas:
*Healthcare/Medical Assisting

Pay: $45.55 per hour
License/Certification:
- 30 Day Substitute Permit or a CTE Teaching Credential? (Required)
