Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Therapist or Social Worker to join our team at Baldwin Youth Services, Inc. This role is crucial in providing support and counseling to youth placed in our care, helping them navigate their challenges and work towards healthier futures. Additionally, this role will have some administrative duties and is considered a leadership position within agency. The position is based in Robertsdale, Alabama. Individual selected for this position will receive competitive hourly pay and a quarterly cash bonus based on individual goals. This part time position is 4-6 hours per week, flexible (afterschool/afternoons) schedule. This role will also rotate on an after hours on call rotation of only 1 week per month.
Responsibilities
- Conduct (afterschool/afternoon) weekly therapeutic group counseling sessions as needed for youth in our care up to 1 hours per week (weekdays)
- Conduct individual counseling up to 3 hours per week during the week. (weekdays)
- Receive a generous stipend and participate in an on call (after hours) rotation 1 week per month to provide staff support, staff direction, & crisis intervention in the event of an after hours on call need.
- Lead and direct staff as needed based on program requirements or scheduling.
- Be well versed and experienced in adolescent crisis management, verbal de-escalation, and leading & supporting staff in a youth residential environment.
- Keen knowledge in community based resources for youth and families in the local area.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss cases and share insights.
- Stay informed about best practices in behavioral health and social work.
- Offer fresh innovative ideas with a modern approach to best serve residents and/or their families.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work or related field required.
- State licensure as a Social Worker or Counselor is preferred.
- Experience in clinical counseling or working with at-risk youth is highly desirable.
- Experience working in juvenile court or corrections settings.
- Experience working with or in coordination with the Department of Human Resources
- Strong skills in individual and group counseling techniques.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Weekly availability 1 afternoon or evening a per week.
- Ability to be on call (for afterhours) 1 week a month (Monday-Sunday)
- Must be able to pass full background check.
