Head Women’s Golf Coach
Baldwin Wallace University invites applications for the part-time position of Head Women’s Golf Coach. BW has a rich athletic tradition and has some exciting facility upgrades coming soon. BW is a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III. The athletic department supports the College mission by assisting students in their preparation toward becoming contributing, compassionate citizens in an increasingly global society. The position reports directly to the Athletic Director.
Responsibilities:
Develop, manage, and coordinate all aspects of a successful intercollege golf program including but not limited to:
- Recruiting and retaining student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, OAC and institutional rules, regulations and guidelines
- Organizing, preparing and executing effective practice and game strategies
- Oversight of our women’s golf team.
- Monitoring and nurturing student-athletes’ academic and personal progress
- Managing successfully the daily operations of a varsity program: budgeting, scheduling, equipment, travel arrangements, and game day organization.
- Assisting with fundraising, alumni activities and public relations as needed
- Supervising part time assistant coaches and other support staff
- Represent the University and program at local, OAC and national meetings and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Fostering a cooperative work environment and providing mutual support with all constituencies and colleagues
- Be a positive role model for our student-athletes to follow and represent the program and Baldwin Wallace University with sportsmanship, integrity and professionalism at all times
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred- Golf coaching experience preferred, college coaching experience preferred
- Demonstrated successful recruiting experience
- Proficient with technology applications applicable to the position
- Demonstrated organizational and management ability
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of NCAA and OAC rules and regulations
- Appreciation for and understanding of NCAA D-III athletic philosophy
- Strong ethical character
- Must maintain CPR/AED certification
- Must pass a background check and complete Stewards of Children training program
- Must be able to travel, some overnight possibilities, maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to secure and maintain University certification to drive University vehicles
- An appreciation and understanding of diversity that includes a demonstrated track-record of working within multicultural communities
