Cross Country Coach - Baldwin Middle School

Summary:

Hudsonville’s Middle School Cross Country Coach is responsible for  helping overseeing the Cross Country team. The mission of Hudsonville Public Schools is to educate, challenge, and inspire all learners to become contributing, responsible members of a global society. This position is for fall 2026.

Description:

• Organize and work with Athletic Director to schedule the Cross Country season
• Lead team practices and conditioning sessions
• Coordinate travel plans for away meets
• Possess a great love of the sport and a high interest in helping individuals reach their highest potential
• Good role model for student-athletes 
• Current knowledge of rules, fundamentals, teamwork and the ability to relate to and teach teenage students 
• Strong commitment to building a successful program for student-athletes 
• Strong interpersonal skills 
• Strong organizational skills 
• Create a positive learning experience for all members of the team 
• Maintain all records, statistics, and awards information 
• Maintain ongoing communication with team members, parents, and media 
• Attends practices, games, and meetings punctually
• Teaches necessary skills for individual and team achievement

Education and/or Experience:

• Evidence of expertise in sport 
• Preferably previous coaching or history playing sport 

Language Skills: 

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies or staff members.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Position involves frequent lifting up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
