Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pediatric Billing Specialist to manage all aspects of billing, coding, and claims. This full-time role is vital to ensuring accurate, compliant billing practices that support the practice's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare to children and their families.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with pediatric billing, be highly organized, and have a strong knowledge of coding standards, payer requirements, and insurance procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit health insurance claims (CMS-1500 and electronic) accurately and on time.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Post payments, reconcile EOBs, and manage account adjustments.
- Track, follow up, and appeal denied claims.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer regulations.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient billing records.
- Generate billing and revenue cycle reports.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Assist or train staff on billing procedures as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 6 years of experience in pediatric medical billing and coding.
- Proficiency with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
- Experience with health insurance claim forms (CMS-1500) and electronic submissions.
- Ability to manage high-volume claims efficiently.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with practice management / EHR software (Office Practicum preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- CPC, CPB, or equivalent certification.
- Experience in a high-volume pediatric practice.
