Job Description & Key Responsibilities
Balbec Capital is hiring an Analyst for our Commercial Real Estate Group based in our Midtown NYC office. This critical role will help grow our bridge loan origination franchise which is focused on hospitality and multi-family sectors. Our ideal candidate would also have some experience in distressed CRE Debt, higher yielding / credit CMBS, and special situations. This is an entry-level role and is open to recent graduates or students graduating in May 2026.

Responsibilities include:
- Candidate will be involved in every stage of the deal from pricing, term sheet negotiation, underwriting, due diligence, loan closing, and asset management
- Maintaining detailed surveillance on warehouse facility utilization, lender/investor feedback, asset notes, and monitoring warehouse covenants
- Providing feedback on market conditions, competition, supply/demand dynamics, and insights regarding new opportunities
- Collaborating with other members of the investment team to achieve company objectives
Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or similar
- Ability to proactively interact with, and accumulate market data from brokers, borrowers, appraisers, third-party data providers, property managers, and other CRE professionals
- Team player who is efficient, organized, and proactive with good interpersonal skills
- Must have a keen eye for deal sourcing and conservative bend for underwriting
- Familiarity with mortgage loan structures, warehouse facility documentation, and/or securitization structures is a plus
