Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (1–3 years) with a strong background in family medicine to join our team. This full-time, on-site role involves delivering comprehensive primary care through thorough assessment, diagnosis, treatment, patient education, and ongoing support.

Our ideal candidate is confident, compassionate, and comfortable practicing with appropriate autonomy in a dynamic outpatient setting. Prior experience in a concierge or DPC environment is a plus, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across a broad family medicine population
  • Perform common office-based procedures (e.g., suturing, injections, dermatologic procedures, wound care)
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests
  • Develop and execute individualized care plans, including medication management and lifestyle-based interventions
  • Provide clear, empathetic patient education and counseling for prevention and chronic disease management
  • Document all encounters accurately within the EHR system
  • Manage telehealth visits and communicate with patients through secure messaging
  • Coordinate referrals, follow-up care, and care navigation when needed
  • Collaborate with a small, supportive clinical team within the DPC model
  • Participate in quality improvement efforts and workflow or process optimization

Qualifications

  • Certified Physician Assistant with active Colorado licensure (or ability to obtain)
  • 3 years of experience in primary care, family medicine, or outpatient care required
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills across ages and conditions
  • Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems and comfort with digital communication platforms (email, Slack, etc.)
  • Competency in common outpatient procedures (e.g., suturing, injections, skin procedures, phlebotomy)
  • Strong understanding of preventive care, chronic disease management, and evidence-based guidelines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely within a small team
  • Interest in or willingness to learn the Direct Primary Care model

Why Join Balanced Healthcare?

  • A schedule that allows time for thoughtful, unrushed patient care
  • A supportive, mission-driven practice culture
  • Opportunity to build long-term patient relationships
  • A growing practice with room for professional development and leadership
  • A model that prioritizes clinician well-being and autonomy
