Food Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Food Technician to join our team at Balanced Family Academy. The Food Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of food products at our Childcare centers through meticulous testing, analysis, and documentation. Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of duties in the areas of food preparation, dishwashing and sanitation.
• Insures that the regulations and requirements for sanitation and safety are met daily.
• Distribution of meals.
• Wash all dishes after the teachers have returned them to the kitchen, they will return them in a timely manner after each meal/snack.
• Works well around children.
• Able to transport food
• Serve food at proper portions as requested.
• Wash and cut fruits to prepare them for use.
• Routine cleaning operations in the kitchen.
• Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Appropriately mark, wrap, store and bag products for use/storage.
• Ensure all food items are rotated for use using the FIFO (first in, first out) method.
• Strong attention to detail; able to consistently follow directions.
• Knife skills are a plus.
• Monitor freezer/refrigerator temperature to ensure food is stored properly.
• Must pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Pass an FBI and BCI Background Check
• Medical Statement completed by a physician
• Background in Food Service preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
