Overview
Balance Technology Inc. manufactures precision measurement and testing equipment near Ann Arbor, Michigan. We are seeking a hands-on automation professional to commission, troubleshoot, and support complex systems at customer sites worldwide. This role requires traveling up to 60% domestically and internationally to install, debug, and validate automated machinery.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens TIA Portal/Step7)
- Configure HMIs, VFDs, Servo Drive Systems, and Robotic interfaces (ABB, , EPSON)
- Integrate safety controllers (GuardLogix, PILZ, ProfiSafe) and fieldbus networks (EtherNet/IP, ProfiNet, DeviceNet, ProfiBus)
- Use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic tools for system debugging and validation
- Perform machine power-up, commissioning, and final system testing at customer facilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial control systems and I/O networks
Qualifications

- 4 years of hands-on experience with industrial automation or control systems
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics and control architecture
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently on site
