Job Description: Nurse Practitioner
Reports to: Clinical Director
Balance Health & Healing is a growing specialty clinic located in a premier location in Utah County, committed to providing psychological services to individuals seeking balance in all aspects of life. We provide comprehensive services to meet the diverse needs of our community with a specialty emphasis on eating recovery.
We are a non-urgent healthcare clinic with three areas of service: eating disorder medical assessment and treatment, low complexity psychiatric medication assessment and treatment, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) medical assessment and treatment.
Our comprehensive medical clinic includes initial screenings to assess medical stability, an in-house lab with rapid blood work analysis, and EKG services. We offer ongoing monitoring with touch points and test results to provide safety and support needed in treatment.
Our clinic provides Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) that includes a combination of thorough medical and psychological assessment by KAP-trained providers, ketamine-dosing sessions, specialized integration psychotherapy sessions, and focused mindfulness training and skill-building. The medical provider conducts the medical intake assessment and medical treatment for KAP in close collaboration with the KAP Team, consisting of medical director, therapists, and support staff.
We are looking for an engaging, motivated, and skilled Nurse Practitioner. Preference is given to candidates with experience with eating concerns and psychiatric care. We are interested in a candidate who is willing to collaborate and develop our specialty medical practice. Nurse Practitioner will work closely with Medical Director to guide effective medical practices. This is an Independent Contractor position.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide the following healthcare services to patients, as an Independent Contractor, within his/her scope of practice in the clinic:
- 1. Eating recovery medical assessment appointments
- 2. Eating recovery medical follow-up appointments
- 3. Eating recovery medical nursing appointments (as indicated)
- 4. General mental health psychiatry intake appointments (as qualified)
- 5. General mental health psychiatry follow-up appointments (as qualified)
- 6. Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy medical assessments and medical treatment (as qualified)
- Work a minimum of 20 clinical hours per month, which may include a minimum of 16 clinical appointments, with flexibility to increase hours based on interest and demand
- Maintain quality documentation of care provided pursuant to the nationally published Medicare Evaluation and Management Documentation Guidelines as well as the established documentation practices of the organization
- Comprehensive follow through on all aspects of medical treatment plans
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure appropriate treatment recommendations and outcomes
- Track and maintain clinical schedule within timeframe as needed for payroll purposes
- Work with staff to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements relating to clinical and medical services
Requirements/Core Skills:
- Hold and maintain professional licensure throughout contract with the organization
- Current UT Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Current UT license as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Current valid DEA number
- Current malpractice insurance
- Current BLS Certification
- Ability to autonomously provide all components of the healthcare services listed above in the essential responsibilities, including rapid blood work collection & analysis and EKG services
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow through skills
Preferred Skills:
- 1-5 years experience with eating recovery treatment as a Nurse or Nurse Practitioner
- 1-5 years experience with psychiatric medical management
- 1-5 years experience with advanced airway and ketamine dosing protocols
