Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Home Health Intake Specialist to coordinate patient admissions and streamline the intake process for our home health services. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patient referrals, scheduling initial assessments, and coordinating intake appointments.
- Collect, verify, and document patient information accurately, including insurance details, medical history, and referral documentation.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all required paperwork and documentation are complete prior to patient admission.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
- Maintain organized records within electronic health record systems while adhering to confidentiality standards and privacy regulations.
- Provide administrative support by managing appointment schedules, follow-up communications, and data entry tasks related to patient intake.
- Assist in onboarding new patients by explaining procedures, answering questions, and guiding them through the intake process efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare policies and regulations throughout all stages of patient intake procedures.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical administrative support functions.
- Experience working in a dental or home health office is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using office software applications such as electronic health records (EHR) systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective communication skills to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
