What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Health Intake - Receptionist position at Balajie Home Health Care, Inc.?
The Intake Coordinator is responsible for acceptance and processing of referrals from all sources and assignment of cases to appropriate personnel.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Accepts and processes referrals from all sources, obtains physician authorization for services and evaluates referral for skilled criteria before assigning to nurses, aides, and/or therapists.
2. Assures equitable distribution of case loads to staff when making an assignment.
3. Follows up with miscellaneous insurance carriers prior to start of care for authorization and coverage of services and required information for billing purposes.
4. Contacts physicians or accepts calls from them when nurses in the field are unable to do so.
5. Accepts calls from clients / ancillary staff when nurses in the field are unable to do so.
6. Assists the field staff in notification of physicians and/or discharge planners of agency’s inability to provide services to a referred client.
7. Participates in scheduled staff meetings, in-service education, client care conferences and client care review as indicated.
8. Assists the Administrator and/or CQI Coordinator as indicated to assure smooth operation of agency.
9. Other duties as requested by the Administrator or to the Alternate.
