Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast items, including eggs, pancakes, bacon, and other morning favorites, adhering strictly to recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, poaching stations, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new breakfast dishes or modifications based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Manage food production during peak hours to ensure timely service without compromising quality
- Handle food with care, practicing proper food handling techniques to prevent cross-contamination
- Maintain inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management of shortages or reorder needs
Qualifications
- Previous dietary aide or culinary experience in a restaurant or food service setting is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and sanitizing procedures
- Skilled in food preparation techniques such as braising, grilling, poaching, and other cooking methods
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and high-volume food production
- Background in fine dining or catering environments is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- A passion for culinary arts with a focus on breakfast cuisine and excellent food handling practices
