Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on ERP Systems Analyst (Technical) to support, enhance, and optimize our ERP system within a manufacturing environment. This role combines technical expertise (SQL, reporting, and light scripting) with business process improvement, data ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.
This is not a purely IT role. The ideal candidate understands how systems support real-world operations and can translate business needs into practical, sustainable solutions.
Success in this role includes improving data accuracy, reducing manual processes, and increasing system adoption across departments.
Key Responsibilities
ERP System Support & Ownership
- Maintain and support the ERP system (Aptean or similar)
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide direct user support
- Manage system configurations, user access, and data integrity
- Serve as the primary internal resource for ERP-related support
Data & Reporting
- Develop and maintain reports using SQL, ERP tools, and reporting platforms (Excel, Power BI, or similar)
- Build dashboards to support operational and leadership decision-making
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems
- Identify and resolve data inconsistencies and reporting gaps
Process Improvement
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Accounting)
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend system-based improvements
- Help standardize processes for scalability and efficiency
Technical Development & Automation
- Write SQL queries, scripts, and basic automation tools
- Support integrations between ERP and other systems
- Assist with system enhancements and continuous improvement efforts
Documentation & Training
- Document workflows, configurations, and ERP-related processes
- Maintain clear SOPs and training materials
- Train users on ERP functionality and best practices
Project & Vendor Coordination
- Manage ERP-related projects and priorities across departments
- Communicate progress and updates to leadership
- Work with ERP vendors and third-party support teams
System Growth & Change Management
- Support system updates, enhancements, and adoption
- Assist with future initiatives, including cloud transition and automation
- Identify opportunities for improvement using new tools and technologies, including AI
Qualifications
Required
- 3–7 years of experience working with ERP systems (manufacturing environment preferred)
- Strong SQL skills (queries, joins, reporting)
- Experience with reporting, dashboards, and data analysis
- Ability to translate business needs into system solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred
- Experience with ERP systems such as Aptean, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
- Basic scripting or automation experience
- Experience with system integrations and data flow
Work Environment
- Office-based role with frequent cross-functional interaction
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing floor conditions
- Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and prioritization
