What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Manager position at BAKERY BLING?
This role is responsible for making sure the ingredients, packaging, and supplies we need are always available so production can run smoothly.
In addition to managing procurement, this position will oversee the Warehouse Manager and help ensure our warehouse processes are organized and efficient. The role will also be responsible for understanding and managing our Fishbowl inventory system, helping the company improve inventory accuracy and move toward more automated production planning.
This position works closely with production, R&D, quality, and finance teams to keep operations running efficiently and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities
Purchasing & Supplier Management

Source ingredients, packaging, and other materials needed for production.

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

Negotiate pricing and terms to help control costs.

Place purchase orders and monitor deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time.

Stay aware of market trends that could impact ingredient availability or pricing.
Inventory & Production Planning

Manage and maintain accurate inventory through the Fishbowl system.

Help improve and automate production planning by ensuring inventory data and Bill of Materials are accurate.

Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages while also preventing excess inventory.

Work with production to ensure materials are available for upcoming production schedules.
Warehouse Oversight

Oversee the Warehouse Manager and support day-to-day warehouse operations.

Ensure materials are received, stored, and tracked properly.

Improve warehouse organization, efficiency, and inventory accuracy.

Support cycle counts and inventory audits.
Cross-Team Collaboration

Work closely with production to ensure materials are available when needed.

Partner with R&D to source ingredients for new product development.

Coordinate with quality to ensure suppliers meet food safety standards.

Work with finance to manage purchasing budgets and track costs.

5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations.

Experience in food manufacturing, bakery production, or CPG is a plus.

Experience working with ERP or inventory systems (Fishbowl experience is a strong plus).

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate effectively.

Leadership experience or the ability to manage and support a warehouse team
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
