    TEACHER, INTERVENTION SPECIALIST
    (2026-2027 School Year)


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Valid California teaching credential, authorizing service in the area of assignment
    2. Five years or more of classroom instruction with appropriate credential to serve the defined need at the school site
    3. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
    4. Evidence demonstrating classroom instruction success with students in English Language Arts and/or Mathematics
    5. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
    6. Demonstrates understanding of the RTI model and Professional Learning Communities

    REPORTS TO: Principal

    JOB GOAL: To implement the school site intervention program to most effectively meet the academic and behavioral needs of students designated to this program

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Works in push-in or pull-out classroom setting with groups of children to provide specific, targeted instruction based on assessments, and academic needs of students
    • Assesses, progress monitors, and provides intervention strategies as part of the RTI team
    • Prescribes instruction to meet individual needs of students
    • Fosters students' intrinsic motivation to learn and succeed by goal setting
    • Provides a wide variety of instructional resources that supports teacher and student needs
    • Prepares materials for individualized and group instruction and may also be part of grade level deployment
    • Demonstrates and models effective teaching methods and techniques based on current standards for the teaching profession
    • Develops students' critical thinking, problem solving, creative, collaborative and communication skills at high levels to shape resilient learners
    • Assists teachers in lesson planning and room organization as needed
    • Participates in Professional Learning Communities as identified through grade level and student need
    • Develops and maintains system of student record keeping in formative assessments, progress monitoring, and data analysis
    • Confers with children, parents, teachers, and specialized personnel as needed
    • Disseminates current reading and/or math research relevant to goals of school and program
    • Participates in District, county, and state meetings and trainings as directed by site administration
    • Contributes news items of program to bulletins and other communications from school
    • Assists in school and District testing program
    • Models personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring and collaboration, personal and collective accountability
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

    SALARY:
    $78,145 - $133,656 annually (190 day. Max salary includes educational stipends)

    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District's "Improvement of
    Professional Services" handbook, Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with
    collective bargaining agreements when applicable.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act.
