Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Instructor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver effective instruction aligned with California State Standards and district curriculum requirements.
• Provide focused instruction in:
  • Writing fundamentals
  • Grammar and sentence structure
  • Vocabulary development
  • Reading comprehension
  • Remediation and academic intervention strategies
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English learners, students with disabilities, and students requiring academic intervention.
• Assess student progress regularly and use data to guide instruction and intervention.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and administration regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development, instructional planning, and student support initiatives.
• Participate in professional development activities and school-wide programs.
• Maintain accurate records related to attendance, grades, assessments, and student performance.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
