Day in the Life Typically Includes

The lamination clerk laminates books by hand or by machine in accordance with the customer specifications. The clerk will determine the correct lamination type, apply the laminate, and trim excess laminate as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (The following statements describe the general nature of work being performed in this job.

They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management) :

  • Verifies customer instructions, and container number to barcode container number in pouch
  • Removes products indicated to receive protective covering.
  • Applies appropriate covering to books (cover-up, laminate covers). Trims all excess covering from books and trims a small portion of the edges of book.
  • Follow all safety requirements and good housekeeping practices.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly exposed to odors or dust and frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent and 1-3 years’ experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use equipment and machines (laminator and paper cutter).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly move tote pans weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to read and comprehend customer instructions in English from paper sheets or from computer screens.
