Bakery Packaging Associate (Thur-Sun)

Baker's Field Flour & Bread is an artisan flour mill and bakery, sourcing grains from local family farms and stone-milling fresh flour. We bake sourdough breads and pastries daily which are sold across the Twin Cities.

Baker’s Field Flour & Bread is hiring for a part-time Packaging Associate, 3-4 days per week, with some flexibility on scheduling. This role is responsible for making sure all of Baker’s Field’s freshly baked loaves, pastries and flour, get packaged so they can be sent out for delivery each morning. We are a bakery so this position is ideally suited for an early riser, shifts start at 5:30 am each day.

Position Responsibilities:

Packaging:

• Prompt and reliable attendance, arriving no later than 5:30 AM for any scheduled shift
• Carefully package all items produced, maintaining a high level of accuracy, productivity and efficiency
• Practice proper personal hygiene and wear appropriate attire
• Practice regular hand-washing and sanitizing routines, and ensure safe food-handling procedures are in place at all times
• Maintain organization, sanitation and cleanliness of workplace area and equipment
• Ensure items are packaged in a timely manner, achieving all deadlines for shipment
• Update the daily order board for the following day’s packaging processes
• Label all bags and applicable materials in advance of packaging processes
• Perform bread slicing and flour packaging tasks as needed or requested

Necessary Skills and Abilities:

• Organization, attention to detail, multi-tasking
• Lift up to 50lbs unaided, routinely

Other Notes:

• Position Status: Part-time or full-time employment
• Position will report to our Head Miller / Baker, Production Managers, and Shift Managers
• 3-4 days per week
• 5:30 AM shift start time
• 6-8 hours per shift

Baker's Field Holiday Closures

• New Years Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day
• Baker’s Field has no packaging needs on the day immediately following any/all of the above holiday closures

Compensation & Benefits:

• $17/hour
• At 30 hours per week, partial employer paid medical and dental healthcare will be offered
