ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Electrical Design & Engineering
- Develop electrical system designs including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems for design-build projects
- Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system analysis to support efficient and code-compliant designs
- Prepare and modify drawings using Revit and related design software
- Assist in the development of construction documents and specifications
- Ensure designs comply with NEC, NFPA, and other applicable codes and standards
Design-Build Collaboration
- Work closely with project managers, estimators, BIM modelers, and field teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and constructible
- Participate in project planning, conceptual design, and design-assist efforts
- Support coordination across disciplines to resolve clashes and improve project outcomes
- Incorporate real-time feedback from field operations into design adjustments
Project & Client Engagement
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners to develop effective solutions
- Assist with project pursuits, including conceptual estimating and design alternatives
- Support communication throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with client goals
- Represent Baker Group in meetings with internal and external stakeholders
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Review designs for accuracy, completeness, and constructability
- Support continuous improvement of design standards, tools, and processes
- Contribute to lessons learned and best practices across projects
- Promote a culture of being a lifelong learner
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in electrical design, engineering, or construction (design-build experience preferred)
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure preferred
- Experience with Revit and/or other design software
- Familiarity with commercial, healthcare, industrial, or mission-critical facilities preferred
- Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally
- May have occasional visits to a job site which would require periods of standing, walking and/or climbing stairs
