What You’ll Lead
Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company is hiring an Event Coordinator/Public Relations to plan and deliver horticulture-focused events and promotional outreach that strengthen our connection with gardeners and the public. This role exists to ensure each event runs smoothly, reflects our standards, and earns positive attention through consistent media relationships.Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and execute multiple on-property events each year and off-site promotional activities
- Recruit, cold call, schedule, and coordinate vendors, speakers, and exhibitors
- Organize logistics such as services, signage, permits/compliance, and budgets
- Support event marketing and PR by coordinating press outreach and promotional releases
- Gather feedback/data to improve future events and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Required qualifications/skills:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- 1 year event planning experience (garden/horticulture events preferred)
- Strong knowledge of heirloom seed varieties and gardening
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or Horticulture preferred

The schedule is primarily Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, with occasional evenings and full coverage for events that land on Sunday–Monday.
