Role Description The Safety Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in West Palm Beach, FL. This position is responsible for supporting and promoting a strong safety culture on construction sites by monitoring compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site safety inspections, identifying hazards, recommending corrective actions, and documenting findings. The Safety Representative will deliver safety training and toolbox talks, assist in incident reporting and investigations, and maintain accurate safety records. This role collaborates closely with project managers, supervisors, and craft professionals to ensure safe work practices, support continuous improvement in environmental health and safety, and help create a safe, healthy work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) principles and regulations, preferably within construction or industrial settings.
- Effective Communication skills, including the ability to clearly present safety information and collaborate with diverse site teams.
- Experience in Training, such as delivering safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety education for team members.
- Proficiency in Inspection activities, including conducting jobsite audits, hazard assessments, and documenting findings and corrective actions.
- Awareness of Healthcare and occupational health practices as they relate to workplace injuries, incident response, and worker well-being.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR) and familiarity with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Ability to interpret technical safety information, write concise reports, and use basic computer applications for documentation and tracking.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and decisive in urgent or high-risk situations.
- Experience in construction or a related field and a high school diploma or equivalent; additional education in safety or construction management is a plus.
