Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Line and Grade professional at Baker Construction, located in Richmond, VA. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring precise layout and grading for construction projects, interpreting construction documents, setting up and maintaining survey equipment, and collaborating with project teams to ensure alignment and accuracy. Additional tasks include regular field staking, grade verification, detailed reporting, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in layout and grade setup, including interpreting blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
- Experience in using and maintaining survey equipment such as lasers, GPS, and total stations.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to calculate elevations and measurements accurately.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with diverse project teams.
- Commitment to safety, quality standards, and adherence to project timelines and goals.
- Physical ability to perform tasks in various outdoor work environments, including operating in extreme weather conditions.
- Experience in civil construction or concrete construction is a strong advantage.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in surveying, construction, or a related field are preferred.
