The Job Cost Accountant is responsible for timely and accurate job "set-ups" for all companies, regions, and joint ventures. In addition, the JCA is responsible for all maintenance to the projects, until the close out of each project, including adding cost codes and workers compensation codes.
The Job Cost Accountant will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. Note that the areas listed are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by co-workers assigned to this role. - Maintains job master files and region changes
- Updates missing workers comp codes after confirming
- Processes suspends and non-postings per request
- Distributes reports for project teams and management as needed
- Enters additional codes on demand for internal and external customers
- Assists internal and external customers with wide variety of problems - troubleshooting
- Utilizes the "help desk" approach by answering questions and finding solutions to a variety of problems
- Trains new and existing co-workers to properly complete transition sheets
- Distributes job information daily to various departments to communicate crucial information
- Assist with monthly WIP preparation
- Assists Controller I-Job Cost Manager as required with various projects
- Prepares various reconciliations (ADD)
- An Associates Degree (preferred) or 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent of education and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word and Excel
- Must possess strong customer service skills
- Vista experience preferred

- Ability to organize and prioritize work
