Intellectual Property (Litigation)
Baker Botts L.L.P. is seeking a junior associate to join our Intellectual Property Department in our San Francisco or Palo Alto office. We are looking for a highly motivated associate with 2-3 years of IP litigation experience. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge intellectual property matters within a collaborative and dynamic environment. For positions based in the California offices of Baker Botts L.L.P., the salary range is $235,000 to $260,000.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience:
• Experience with all aspects of litigation from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal
• Strong writing skills and experience drafting and reviewing legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests
• Experience researching legal and technical issues related to patent claims, prior art, and infringement and invalidity issues
• Experience supporting depositions, hearings, expert reports, and trials
• Strong oral communication skills and experience coordinating with clients, experts, and internal teams to develop case strategies
• Experience with patent drafting, prosecution, and strategy
• Law degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
• Admitted to practice in California or another U.S. jurisdiction
• Degree in a technical engineering or science field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics
• Licensed to practice before the USPTO or qualified to sit for the patent bar
