Position Title: Lead Cashier
Position Summary
The Lead Cashier is responsible for overseeing front-of-house cashier operations during shifts, ensuring fast, accurate service while maintaining high customer service standards. This role acts as the first line of leadership on the register, supporting team members and communicating directly with Shift Leaders and Assistant Managers.
Key Responsibilities
Front-of-House Leadership
- Lead and support cashiers during shift operations
- Ensure registers are staffed and running efficiently at all times
- Delegate tasks such as cleaning, restocking, and order prep assistance
- Step in during rushes to maintain speed and flow
Customer Service Excellence
- Set the standard for guest interactions (friendly, fast, solution-oriented)
- Resolve basic customer concerns or escalate when necessary
- Ensure order accuracy before completion
Cash Handling & Accuracy
- Manage register operations, including opening/closing procedures
- Ensure all transactions are accurate and properly entered
- Monitor cash handling compliance and prevent shortages
Training & Coaching
- Train new cashiers on POS system, menu knowledge, and service expectations
- Provide real-time coaching and corrections during shifts
- Reinforce company standards and policies
Operations Support
- Assist kitchen when needed (expediting, bagging, running orders)
- Keep front area clean, stocked, and organized
- Monitor online and in-store order flow to avoid delays
Qualifications
- Previous cashier experience required (restaurant preferred)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
