Position Overview:
The Key Holder / Sales Lead is a leadership role within Baked by Melissa retail stores, responsible for supporting the Sales Supervisor in driving sales, enforcing training standards, maintaining exceptional customer service, and ensuring smooth daily operations. This role serves as the go-to leader when the Sales Supervisor is unavailable, providing consistent support to store associates and helping to achieve business goals. The Key Holder / Sales Lead may oversee 1-2 locations and plays a critical role in maintaining brand standards, driving foot traffic, and growing store revenue. This is a part time position. This position is eligible for tips.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the store leader in the absence of the Sales Supervisor, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining company standards. You will be responsible for overseeing anywhere between 1-2 locations.
Support the Sales Supervisor in achieving sales targets and traffic / order value goals.
Maintain a strong presence on the sales floor, engaging with customers and leading by example in delivering exceptional service.
Reinforce training initiatives, ensuring team members understand and execute product knowledge, customer service, and sales techniques effectively.
Assist in onboarding and mentoring new sales associates, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Enforce store policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
Be proactive in driving foot traffic by distributing promotional materials and flyers in the neighborhood when needed.
Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards.
Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and securing the store.
Communicate effectively with the Sales Supervisor and Retail Operations leadership regarding store needs, performance updates, and customer feedback / insights.
Step into a leadership role during peak hours and busy seasons to maintain efficiency and a positive customer experience.
Ensure all team members uphold brand values and create a fun, positive, and team-oriented work environment.
This individual will be responsible for meeting key performance indicators and held to those standards in partnership with their Sales Supervisor
Qualifications:
Minimum of 12 months of experience in a retail or customer service role. Prior leadership experience is a plus.
Passion for customer service and ability to create meaningful guest interactions.
Strong communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback.
Reliable and flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take initiative.
Must be comfortable working at multiple store locations, if needed. This position will require to satisfy support for anywhere between 1-2 locations.
