Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and desserts, following established recipes and standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as mixing, portioning, and assembling ingredients for baking and cooking processes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery kitchen, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and properly stored
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures, including storage, temperature control, and hygiene practices
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, knives, and other baking tools
- Assist with catering orders or special event preparations to ensure timely delivery of baked goods
Skills
- Proven experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a bakery or restaurant environment
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to plan menus or contribute ideas for new baked items or specials
- Experience with catering or large-scale food production is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
