What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operator position at Bair Grain Farms Inc?
We are a grain farm in east central Indiana and farm a total of 5100 acres. Seasonal work is needed in planting, fertilizing, pesticide applications, harvesting and helping with grain facility. Job duties will include: prepare fields for planting, attach implements such as discs and implements to tractors, using bolts and hand tools, operate tractors, operate other farm equipment, engage in planting, weeding, spraying and/or harvesting activities, spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth and diseases using hand sprayers, load crops and unload crops, complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Use mower to keep field borders mowed and the farmyards with lawnmower. Employees will need to operate farm trucks to haul grain from fields to storage. No commercial trucking is required. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at the previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate.
