Position Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations for our projects throughout East Tennessee. This role will be responsible for managing jobsite activities, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
This position does not require travel outside of East Tennessee.
Job Description
● Oversee all on-site construction activities from start to finish
● Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and field personnel
● Maintain and update project schedules and ensure goals are met
● Ensure quality control and adherence to project plans and specifications
● Conduct regular site inspections and safety meetings
● Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and subcontractors
● Manage daily jobsite documentation, including reports, photos, and logs
● Identify and resolve field issues proactively
● Assist in planning and sequencing of work to maintain efficiency
● Ensure compliance with all OSHA and company safety standards
● Responsible oversight of SWPPP requirements of local and state authorities
Qualifications
● Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction as an assistant superintendent orproject manager OR 2 years as a Lead Superintendent in commercial construction
● Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, especially renovations/tenant improvements
● Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
● Experience coordinating multiple trades in an active jobsite environment
● Strong leadership and communication skills
● Proficiency with construction management software and basic technology tools
Needs / Requirements
● Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
● Familiarity with scheduling and project management tools (Gantt charts, etc.)
● Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA standards
● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
● Ability to work on-site daily across various job locations
● Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset
Compensation
● Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 (based on experience)
