PRIVATE CREDIT GROUP
Bain Capital Credit’s Private Credit Group evaluates investment opportunities across the spectrum in the middle market, or typically companies with $10-150M of EBITDA located in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. With a dedicated global team of over 35 investment professionals, we can lead investments across the capital structure in senior secured first lien, second lien and unitranche loans, subordinated debt, and preferred or common equity co-investments. Our dedicated global team affords us the ability to diligence the most complex situations and provide private capital to those companies.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with Portfolio Management, Investor Relations, Finance and Operations to drive all aspects of performance and portfolio analytics, including
Expected Annual Base Salary $135,000 – 150,000
Actual base salary will be determined by a wide range of factors including but not limited to role, function, level, experience, qualifications and geographic location. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based upon factors such as individual impact, team and firm performance. Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with Portfolio Management, Investor Relations, Finance and Operations to drive all aspects of performance and portfolio analytics, including
- Drive the continuous development and tracking of key performance and portfolio metrics across Bain Capital Private Credit
- Conduct a wide range of portfolio and strategy-level analyses for use in portfolio management, investor requests and internal analytics
- Prepare Bain Capital Private Credit’s track record and respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders, external investors, and prospects
- Partner with diligence and presentation teams on recurring and ad-hoc requests related to LP and consultant questions and due diligence processes
- Ensure the ongoing accuracy, quality, and consistency of performance and portfolio analytics and related reporting
- Maintain the integrity of internal processes, workflows, and databases used to track key performance and investment metrics across the PCG platform
- 5 years of experience in performance measurement, portfolio analytics, or investment reporting
- Private credit experience required—strong familiarity with credit terms, market structure and dynamics, and common LP / consultant data requests
- Broader understanding of global financial markets preferred
- Excellent communication skills; able to synthesize analyses clearly and articulate insights in a concise and compelling manner
- Strong understanding of performance measurement calculations, methodologies, and differences
- Familiarity with Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) and related representations
- Prior experience with track record or Statement of Investments (SOI) preparation a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
- High attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams, manage multiple priorities, and triage competing requests effectively
- Entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, accountable, and self-driven; capable of “connecting the dots” and executing with minimal guidance
- Experience developing or improving processes and workflows within complex organizations
- Technical proficiency or willingness to learn quickly:
- SQL
- Python
- Snowflake
- Power BI, Fabric (DAX)
- Four-year college degree with a strong academic background
- Major in accounting, finance or related degree required
- CFA/CAIA a plus
