The role of the Physical Layer Design Engineer is to be responsible for providing engineering support for all pre-sales, project design and delivery activities. This position typically supports multiple Bailiwick customers and continues to support internal project teams.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities
Engineering including defining technical expectations as to what would be required for the execution of Bailiwick products and services, producing detailed site designs for physical layer and equipment layout on a variety of site types, acquiring and maintaining manufacturer certification, project estimating, pre-sales support (including customer presentations and proposal writing), participating or leading in Site Survey events, site technician training, technical project escalation, assisting in developing and supporting the Bailiwick Quality Assurance program, researching and developing new service offers to support or drive new business and managing assigned projects to meet or beat the per site timelines and budget.
Business Management including participating with departmental budgeting efforts, financial analysis of engineering supported projects, monitoring Bill of Material creation practices, providing input on business practices and efficiencies as they relate to their job responsibilities.
Customer and Vendor Interface including participating in customer presentations and potential visits, traveling to customer locations when required, interfacing with Vendor Partners as it relates to technical issues, and acting as primary Engineering contact.
The base salary range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $55,000 and $90,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions and discretionary bonuses, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and personal leave), dependent on the position offered. Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience
- RCDD certification or equivalent field experience
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience involving industry design and installation experience for physical layer and related systems
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience involving industry project costing and proposal writing
- Significant experience related to IT deployment initiatives, remodel/construction, physical layer and other related fields
- Broad understanding of technological (LAN/WAN) environments
- Significant experience and understanding of Telephony as it relates to physical layer
- Some experience and understanding of paging systems designs, troubleshooting and support
- Significant experience with direct customer interface and support
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite tools
- Proficiency in Visio
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- Financial aptitude for tracking project budgets, costs, and margins
- Any relevant certifications a plus
- This position is expected to travel up to 25%
