Schedule: Full-time, seasonal (40 hours/week)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt – Paid Internship
About the Opportunity:
The propagation intern will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of greenhouse operations, supporting plant propagation, crop care, and order fulfillment. This role involves maintaining greenhouse facilities, monitoring plant health, and assisting with irrigation, pest management, and inventory tracking. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and explore the many paths our industry has to offer. This internship is an opportunity to dig deep and bloom.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform greenhouse maintenance.
- Pull plant orders, prepare them for shipment, and load them onto trucks.
- Propagate and care for new stock in designated area.
- Assist with updating plant records and labels.
- Help keep accurate counts for inventory.
- Pest and disease scouting.
- Monitor pH and EC readings.
- Monitor, adjust and repair irrigation as needed.
- Fertilize, prune and mow crops.
- Other duties or projects as assigned depend on area of the production process.
What We’re Looking For:
- Currently enrolled in a horticulture degree program or a related field.
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn.
- Proactive and critical thinker.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in harsh climate (hot, humid).
- Spanish/English bilingual is beneficial but not required.
- Some plant knowledge and identification skills are beneficial.
- Some knowledge of environmental sustainability practices is beneficial.
The spring internship program begins as early as January and continues through the end of May. This program can be combined with our summer internship program, which ends in August. There is flexibility on the beginning and end dates to accommodate school schedules.
