We’re looking for an experienced Security Specialist (PERSEC / HSPD-12 & Contractor/Military Processing) to support our customer’s Personnel Security (PERSEC) and contractor processing programs—keeping the right people cleared, badging on time, and fully compliant with policy.
About the Role
You’ll be a senior member of the PERSEC & Contractor Processing Team, driving end-to-end support for contractor, military, and HSPD-12 cases. From initial forms and fingerprints to continuous access and periodic reinvestigations, you’ll keep the customer’s trusted workforce pipeline moving while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent customer service.What You’ll Do
- Support and maintain established PERSEC programs for contractor, military, and HSPD-12 processing.
- Help execute day-to-day PERSEC & Contractor Processing Team operations for our customer.
- Prepare, support, and deliver PERSEC program briefings as needed.
- Draft, write, and present reports, whitepapers, and official correspondence for leadership and stakeholders.
- Brief program leadership and key customer contacts on requirements, regulations, and program status.
- Accurately maintain and update security databases and files (e.g., PeopleSoft security system of record, SharePoint, internal file folders, DISS, RapBack, etc.) with real-time data entry.
- Respond promptly to phone and email inquiries, including status checks and database lookups in internal and external PERSEC systems.
- Help maintain distribution lists and contact channels for PERSEC customers.
- Elevate case-related security issues to Government Team Leads in a timely manner and support recommendations for process improvement.
- Provide high-quality guidance and customer service to internal and external stakeholders on personnel security questions and issues.
- Apply advanced security concepts, principles, and practices to analyze and recommend solutions for complex personnel security challenges.
- Prepare and submit Weekly Activity Reports (WARs) using designated templates and timelines.
- Partner with PMs, COs, CORs, and FSOs to support onboarding of task order personnel.
- Coordinate with external offices that support the program (e.g., OPM) to move cases forward.
- Process military orders/Approval to Brief (ATBs) for active duty and reserve personnel within required timelines.
- Process requests for military Periodic Reinvestigation (PR) initiations in a timely manner.
- Support the processing of Continuous Access Authorizations (CAAs) as assigned.
- Respond to DISS Joint Verification System (JVS) Task Notifications within 5 business days of receipt.
- Process HSPD-12 cases from receipt of SF-85, OF-306, and fingerprints through submission.
- Track HSPD-12 case submissions to DCSA and ensure accurate, timely updates.
What You Bring (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field to personnel security, or equivalent experience.
- 7–10 years of personnel security experience within the DoD and/or Intelligence Community.
- Strong ability to understand and analyze security repositories, including: JPAS/DISS, Scattered Castles, DCSA’s NP2 Portal, eQIP, PIPS/CVS.
- Familiarity with reciprocity requirements for background investigations and SEAD 7.
- Working knowledge of HSPD-12 requirements and their application in a contractor/military processing environment.
